How, it is I, the ButterCashier! My favourite Mario game is Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door; my favourite 3D Mario game is Super Mario Sunshine and my favourite 2D Mario game is now Super Mario Bros. Wonder! Before that it was Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins but Wonder is just amazing in so many ways, a huge improvement on the NSMB games.

Ways Super Mario Bros. Wonder is amazing

  • Lack of time limit in stages, allowing for much more free exploration and appreciation of the level design without having to hurry through it so much
  • Atmospheric levels
  • Music is amazing, good use of varying leitmotifs just like Super Mario World re-using the same theme in a lot of different ways
  • Bosses are good and different, not just the Koopalings again
  • THE WONDER EFFECTS! Every main level has a fun gimmick, shifting perspective, gameplay, who you're playing as, how you see the world! It's the key feature
  • The Flower Kingdom, a new location, both shows a lot of new areas and inspires actual wonder in imagining the Star Kingdom, maybe the Special/Crown Kingdom too
  • Different characters
  • It's really charming, the Poplins are cute little critters too
  • Emphasis on musical elements - ground-pounding makes a snare drum roll, and a crash when you hit the ground! Really well done
  • The Final boss is incredible
  • Incredibly varied level design, each stage using different ideas and ways of getting about
  • Badges - particularly the Boosting Spin Jump, useful in almost every stage, Wall-Climb Jump, Jet Run, Dolphin Kick. All of them have uses (except the rubbish final one)
  • A challenging final stage - several really hard levels at the end. The final, final section of the whole game was a fitting finale

Professor Elvin Gadd's artwork in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. "Ah, Luigi, there you are! Well done on catching so many ghosts, it really adds to my collection. I've been expanding a lot recently, and I'm not talking about all the Shroom Steaks for a change. My gallery, I mean, I've been adding a lot of paintings and pictures recently. There's some really rather ornate work to behold around here, from the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond. Want to take a look around?"

Artwork of Mario from Donkey Kong. What's that ugly thing? Some deformed creature. I hope Mario jumps on it.
