Hello there, 'Shroom readers, and welcome to our November issue! I'd like to wish a happy Thanksgiving to everyone who will be celebrating it this year. To everyone that doesn't, I hope you have a very nice Thursday that week.
I've got important stuff to talk about today. First of all, the Awards Director Election has begun! It's once again time to decide who will be running the Awards Committee for our 2023 festivities! I know, it feels like we just had the 2022 Awards, but trust me, it's already time! If you think you have what it takes, then by all means, check out the election page for more details and get your campaign posted! Even if you don't plan on being a candidate this year, be sure to take a look anyway and cast your vote for your favorite campaign! After all, if no one votes, then no one wins, and if no one wins, then I get to take control of the Awards Committee by force and make all sorts of silly changes to it which will probably lead to a dystopian future somehow.
Don't forget, the December issue will be our annual Holiday Special! Issue 189's theme will be Mario Kart as well as other racing games to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Mario Kart series. As usual, it's a chance to get in on the fun and put a thematic spin on your sections! If you're not currently writing for The 'Shroom but would like to participate with a new section, a one-off, or even a special feature, consider sending an application to Meta Knight (talk)! You can find more information about the application process on our sign up page. While we heavily encourage joining in on the theme, it's not at all required. We're always on the lookout for new writers, so whether you want to write about racing or not, don't hesitate to send in an application!

Greetings, beautiful 'Shroom readers! It's me! I'm Rose! I'm also remarkably tired, but that's what college does to you, amiright? Shoutout to my stressed-out students in the audience, I see you and empathize with you. Remember: whatever effort you can put in is enough, and no single letter on a paper can dictate your worth.
Anyway! The 'Shroom!
As noted by the fabulous WT, next month is our end-of-year issue, and there are a number of festivities associated with it. One such festivity is the upcoming 'Shroom Directorship election! We need some fine faces to lead this newspaper next year, after all, and it could be you! Keep an eye out for more information then, and let the idea ruminate in your head in the meantime. You will post a campaign... you will post a campaign... how does Anton do this hypnotism stuff?
Of course, that isn't to mention the developing scavenger hunt, or the potential for fantastic guest sections... December is always a treat beyond the peppermint candies, and hopefully you'll find our next issue to be just as sweet as we will!
But let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Before we savor that flavor, you have Issue 188 to ingest! So go on ahead and read to your heart's content - and then a little bit more! Much love to you all.
