Artwork of Para-Goomba and Micro-Goombas swarming Mario from Super Mario Bros. 3
A Paragoomba with a few young Microgoombas.

Paragoombas are Goombas with wings. If they get stepped on they turn into regular Goombas.

They are like Paratroopas and are capable of flight, making it very hard to hit in some games.

Sub-Species

  • Hyper Paragoomba: A green Paragoomba that will often charge before attacking. Once charged, Hyper Paragoomba's attack raises to 8.
  • Paragloomba: A grayish-blue Paragoomba that has higher stats than a normal Paragloomba. Only found in dank, dark places.

Super Mario Bros. 3

Paragoombas in Super Mario Bros. 3 throw Microgoombas at Mario. Microgoombas reduce Mario's jumping ability.

Mario Superstar Baseball Bio

"A Goomba with wings. Just like Koopa Paratroopa, Paragoombas lose their wings and turn into Goombas if they get stepped on. The Goomba family is made up of expert bunters, although no one really makes a big deal out of it, bunting, after all, isn't all that glamorous."

Paper Mario Stats and Tattle Information

Regular Paragoomba

HP: 2, Attack: 1, Defense: 0

Tattle: This is a Paragoomba. Obviously, Paragoombas are Goombas with wings. You can't hit 'em with the Hammer while they're airborne. If you damage 'em, they'll fall to the ground and become ordinary Goombas.

Paragloomba

HP: 7, Attack: 2, Defense: 0

Tattle: This is a Paragloomba. Paragloombas are nasty winged Gloombas who make their home in the Toad Town Tunnels. Just like Paragoombas, Paragloombas lose their wings when attacked, then they fall and become Gloombas.

Hyper Paragoomba

HP: 7, Attack: 1, Defense: 0

Tattle: This is a Hyper Paragoomba. Hyper Paragoombas are Hyper Goombas with wings. They sometimes charge their power before attacking. That charged attack will take away 8 HP, so watch out when they start to glow. It'll miss you if you can become transparent. Except for that, they're no different from normal Paragoombas, so use a Jump attack to defeat 'em.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Stats and Tattle Information

Regular Paragoomba

  • Stats: HP: 2, Attack: 1, Defense: 0
  • Locations: Rogueport Sewers, Petal Meadows, Shhwonk Fortress, Hooktail Castle
  • Tattle: That's a Paragoomba. Basically a Goomba with wings. I'm jealous! You can't hammer it while it's flying, but rough it up and it'll totally plummet!
  • Tattle Number: 2
  • Tattle Log: A Goomba with wings. Can't reach it with a hammer while it's in the air, but once its damaged, its wings get clipped. It's kind of sad, really.

Paragloomba

  • Stats: HP: 7, Attack: 3, Defense: 0
  • Locations: Pit of 100 Trials (Levels 11-19)
  • Tattle: That's a Paragloomba. It's a Gloomba with wings. It's like a stronger version of a Parakoopa. And maybe that's all there is to it. I wonder if living down here ever makes its wings moldy? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYUCK! It's too gross to even think about! Bleck!
  • Tattle Number: 8
  • Tattle Log: A Gloomba with wings that may or may not get moldy.

Hyper Paragoomba

  • Stats: HP: 8, Attack: 2, Defense: 0
  • Locations: Twilight Trail
  • Tattle: That's a Hyper Paragoomba. It's basically just a Hyper Goomba with wings. After charging up, you'll be dealing with moves that have an Attack power of 8. Once you damage it, it'll lose its wings and turn into a regular Hyper Goomba. Not that THAT'S all that cool. Even normal Hyper Goombas are dangerous.
  • Tattle Number: 5
  • Tattle Log: When this winged Hyper Goomba charges up, its Attack Power rises to 8.
